Ensuring every child has access to the support they need, with options for Medicare, NDIS, and more

Our Fees

At The Youth Mind Collective, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, accessible, and collaborative psychological services. In line with our commitment to making therapy inclusive and available to all, we have set our fees below the APS National Schedule of Suggested Fees for 2024-2025, which recommends a consultation fee of $311 for a 46-60-minute session.

Consultation fees are payable at the start of each session. Our current fees are as follows:

  • Initial consultation: $300

  • Ongoing consultation: $280

We charge fees for:

  • All psychological services delivered

  • Face-to-face consultations

  • Online sessions and Telehealth

  • School visits and consultations*

  • Teleconferences with teachers, carers, parents, support workers, allied health therapists, and third parties

  • Assessments and reports

  • Support letters for NDIS or other agencies

  • Requests for photocopies of file notes by clients, third parties, or when subpoenaed by the court

  • Cancellations or non-attendances

*Please note we charge a travel fee for school or kindergarten visits, which is $25 per 15 minutes of travel for private clients and a pro-rata hourly rate for NDIS participants.

We aim to make therapy both accessible and valuable, while maintaining the highest standards of care.

Assessment packages

Our assessment packages are designed to provide a thorough understanding of your child’s strengths, challenges, and unique needs. These assessments cover a variety of areas, including cognitive abilities, learning difficulties, ADHD, and behavioural concerns. With a focus on respect, curiosity, and flexibility, we ensure each assessment is tailored to your child’s individual needs, helping to provide clear insights and personalised recommendations. Further Information

Initial Bookings

To secure your initial consultation, we require a 50% deposit. This deposit is refundable if you decide not to proceed with the session, provided you cancel more than 48 hours before the session. If the session is cancelled within 48 hours, the deposit will be forfeited. Our standard non-attendance fees also apply to initial consultations.

Cancellations
We deeply value your time and the progress your child makes through therapy, which is why we dedicate significant time to planning and preparing for each session. As our session times are in high demand, we kindly ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. A fee of 50% of the session fee will be charged for changes made within 48 hours of your scheduled appointment. For cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if you do not attend your session, the full session fee will be incurred.

NDIS clients will be charged the full NDIS rate for cancellations with less than two (2) clear business days' notice, or if a client is not present at the agreed time or location when we are travelling to them.

We ask that you adhere to this cancellation policy as late cancellations or missed appointments impact your child’s therapy progress, prevent other clients on our waitlist from accessing services, and result in lost time for the psychologist who has prepared for the session.

If you are unable to reach us by phone, please leave a voicemail. A clear message advising us that you are unable to attend will be considered as notice. We will respond as soon as possible.

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and emergencies can arise. In these cases, please contact us as soon as possible so we can make necessary adjustments.

Late Arrivals
Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the session will be canceled as there will not be enough time to provide effective therapy. A non-attendance fee will be charged for late arrivals of 15 minutes or more.

Rebates

  • If your child is eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), you may be entitled to a rebate of $96.65 per session with a registered psychologist. The MHTP, available through your child’s GP or paediatrician, covers up to 10 sessions per year, either in-person or via telehealth. After six sessions, your psychologist will provide a progress update to the referring professional to extend the plan for an additional four sessions.

  • Complex neurodevelopmental disorders are a group of conditions that typically emerge in childhood and are associated with significant impairment in at least two different functional areas. Children with these disorders may experience a variety of developmental, learning, and behavioural challenges, and these are lifelong conditions with ongoing impacts.

Through this initiative, you may be eligible to claim a partial rebate of $96.65 for up to 20 allied health sessions across a patient’s lifetime. This rebate is available for young people under the age of 25 who meet the criteria for eligible disabilities or diagnoses and have received a referral from their GP or paediatrician.

  • We accept private health insurance, and we encourage you to contact your provider directly for information about potential rebates for psychological services. Your provider can help you determine if your plan covers our services and guide you through the claims process. Please let us know if you need any assistance or documentation to process your claim.

  • At The Youth Mind Collective, we are proud to accept National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plans and offer services that align with your child’s funding and support needs. If your child is an NDIS participant, we can work with you to ensure that their therapy sessions are covered under their plan.

Our team is experienced in managing NDIS funding and can provide you with the necessary information to process your claims smoothly. We offer both face-to-face and telehealth services for NDIS participants, and we are committed to delivering personalised care that supports your child's goals and development.

Please feel free to reach out to us for further information about how we can work with your NDIS plan and assist in maximising the support your child receives.
